Welcome to the world of Hooshyar Zaheryani, where image, time, sound, and poetry converge.
Working across video art, moving image, installation, and visual communication, Hooshyar explores the spaces between memory and imagination, presence and absence, the visible and the unseen. His practice is driven by a fascination with human experience and the ways in which images can evoke reflection, emotion, and transformation.
Originally trained as a graphic designer, Hooshyar has spent more than eighteen years working with typography, branding, editorial design, and visual systems. This deep foundation in visual language continues to inform his artistic practice, where precision and structure meet experimentation and intuition.
Today, his focus lies primarily in time-based media, combining video, sound, poetry, and emerging technologies to create immersive experiences that invite viewers into moments of contemplation. Drawing inspiration from philosophy, Persian poetry, and everyday human encounters, his works often revolve around themes of solitude, friendship, love, freedom, hope, mortality, and inner transformation.
As a Master's student in Time-Based Media at the University of Art and Design Linz, Hooshyar continues to investigate new forms of visual storytelling, seeking poetic connections between technology and humanity. Each work becomes an invitation: not merely to watch, but to pause, reflect, and enter a dialogue with oneself.
